This past holiday weekend I took the time to remember and appreciate how truly blessed I am. I have a wonderful family, amazing friends, and all of you loves to share life with. I remember when growing up I often got asked "who do you want to be when you grow up?" As a child I typically answered that question with the name of a movie star, famous violinist (did you guys know I play?), or a spice girl. Today as an adult I ask myself even more frequently who I want to be. I want to be the person who is ever evolving, kind yet tough, a dreamer yet a realist, fluid yet basically that best version of ourselves we all strive to be. I've got a long way to go and many more things to learn along the way but I see small changes in myself each day and I'm working on stressing a little less and really pushing towards the very desires of my heart. One life to live and I'm living it the Ashlei way. Now that I've got mushy with you, check out this look from Thanksgiving! This dress was perfect the festivities and so full of life with mixed prints. I couldn't have picked a better day to share with my family. I hope y'all enjoyed it too!

Leather Love

You ever have that perfect outfit in mind that you're quite positive you can't pull off? I've been dreaming of leather skirts all season long and I finally got the chance to wear one. With the hot to cold weather swings here in Charlotte it's difficult to predict between mini skirts or overcoat. Today was one of those great weather days and in my opinion the risk was worth it. I'm usually more of a flare skirt kind of girl but this pencil skirt has all my love. I find that this style hugs the right places if you know what I mean! My pairing with this buffalo plaid shirt is totally swoon worthy but also I'm thinking a chunky sweater could work too. Pick your poison loves you can't go wrong. P.S. This skirt also comes in a lovely plum color!

Sweater Weather

Just before the cold snap comes to the South to stay there is nothing better than enjoying the fading warmth of Fall. This time of year just so happens to also be the perfect time for sweaters ( even the impractical ones)! I'm absolutely loving the color of this sweater because it compliments my skin tone not to mention the ever so chic cold shoulder cut outs. I mean seriously, have you ever met a sweater so fabulous? I'm planning on keeping this beauty in rotation cold weather or not. I paired with my fave destroyed jeans for daytime fun but black skinnies and heeled booties can take this beauty off into the nights.

Mad for Plaid

I've told you loves time and time again about my love for plaid! Keep reading but know this post will surely be more about the most perfect pattern Fall has ever seen, plaid.  I'm all about those casual dresses that make a stunning statement for work or for play and this one is no exception. I've been searching for the right time to wear this beauty, but really is there a wrong time? I think not! With the nice weather following the rain yesterday and the colder weather quickly approaching I decided today was it. I'm thinking I made a good choice and at $14 it's a good choice for you too.

Fall Swing

I'm a girl who loves some fashion with all things bling, studded, sueded, and sequined but what I simply cannot get enough of these days is comfort. Sounds simple right? Comfort. I find my comfort and coincidentally lots of style in the ever so chic swing dress this season.  I've got solids, I've got prints, I've got plaids and right now that's it but I'm on the hunt for more! I find them perfect for casual weekend excursions or dressed up with booties and tights for those special nights out. Hope you are following on Instagram @ashleipashlei and caught how I wore the dress casually this weekend for my alma mater's homecoming festivities and a spontaneous trip to an apple orchard. Seriously this is the most perfect dress and paired with a beautiful blanket scarf is the best combination. Literally I've gotten so many compliments on this scarf that of course I'm sharing the details on that too. Beautiful accessories and more of these fantastic swing dresses to come loves!

Plaid and Suede

Ok really loves, how many times do you hear bloggers say "obsessed"? Though I too can tire of that word I'm totally obsessed with plaid this season! Sorry I set yall up for that. I simply cannot tell you guys how many plaid shirts I've purchased thus far this season and I'm not ready to stop yet! Whether you fancy skinny jeans or perhaps the classic maxi skirt a great plaid top is the perfect pairing. I paired mine with a right on trend suede mini skirt. I have to admit im still a little hesitant for the full suede dresses that are out so I'll consider this skirt a big step and one I'm surely glad I took! These skirts come adorned with zippers and all the fixings but I'm loving the more traditional style of mine with button front. I wonder get long winded but I hope I've per-SUEDED you to shop one of this seasons hottest trends (see what I did there?) Ha, happy shopping loves!

Fur Frenzy

Let's talk about a Fall essential that is literally a must-have! I know essential and must-have mean the same thing so you get my point when I tell you to buy one, like yesterday. I get a little crazed about faux fur this time of year because other than the leaves, scarves, boots........( ok everything) fur just screams Fall style! Don't remind my back account but I've snagged several vests so far this year but this one takes the top spot. I mean fur AND patterned, sign me up! Can't get enough of this beauty so snag it while it's hot (or chilly I should say) !
