Work It Wednesday! Update

Happy Work It Wednesday babes! I'm totally all about making this a thing! So excited to show you guys another look of the series that can seriously improve your work wear looks. The main goal here is to inject so fashionable pieces into your wardrobe that appropriate for everyday yet fun! How am I doing so far? I truly want feedback from y'all!

By now you loves know I'm pretty much as career driven as they come and while I sacrifice many things to get where I intend on going I don't however sacrifice my look. I mean if nothing else your look is like a signature, right? I've gone on and on about this dress on my Instagram but wanted to share here because ruffles are also a part of signature right now. I'm not mad about it! Summertime is coming but this dress is lightweight with chiffon sleeves. It's nearly sheer but lined of course throughout the bodice and skirt. Definitely one of those dresses you could work the office in! Pair it up with some accessories and it will be one of your favorite and go to outfits, I guarantee it!

Work It Wednesday Series!

Welcome to my first installment on a series I'm currently calling "Work It Wednesday"! I'm a career driven lady, a millennial (right?) and a lover of all things fashion. With that said I like to step outside of the box of traditional work wear so I'll be bringing you styles and fashions that I think are work appropriate but you'll set the trend. From dresses, to pants, and skirts there are so many flattering pieces that can totally be work wear worthy without being drab. I figured that Spring would be the best time to kick off this series and I'm so excited about it. I work in corporate retail where we have a pretty relaxed dress code but I'm totally ok with being slightly overdressed everyday and what's better is that I can share it with you loves! This dress is the perfect example of what's to come! I love the ruffle details and let's be real they are on the top of the trend list right now but this button front dress is as classic as it comes. The length is just right and I think there are endless styling possibikites but I chose to go simple with a neutral block heel pkus this season's IT bucket bag. Classic style! Where are my working ladies? Let me know if there are any items or trneds you want me to try or review for you as work wear options. I'm so happy to do so!

Blue + White Looks for Spring: Mix & Match

Y'all my Southern soul is so happy that Spring is finally here to stay! Spring is filled with so many patterns and prints that it's hard to favor just one. I try not to pick favorites but if I had to narrow things down of course I'd go with florals and gingham but stripes are right at the top of my list! I find stripes to be so classic yet they have so much potential in various silhouettes and contrasting colors. A friend recently told me that this shade of blue was my color and every time I look at these pics I couldn't agree more! I love the way this color compliments my skin tone. Since these stripes are so fabulous and certainly versatile I thought it would be great to show you a few ways to wear them! I try to mix and match my pieces when possible so here's a few ways I did just that. In my wardrobe I need work clothes, casual, and "play" clothes.

For work: I paired up the matching ruffle top and skirt to make a set. Initially I thought whoa too many stripes but since the stripes flow in different directions I think they compliment each other. Totally work appropriate and cute!

Casual: Everyday is a casual day around the office but I pretty much stick to Fridays for casual wear. I paired up the ruffle top with my favorite white jeans for a take on a fancy casual look. I would totally wear this for hanging out with my girlfriends or a weekend hanging at the brewery. Wearing my favorite shoes of the season of course but if you need to take it down a notch, rock some gladiator sandals!

For Play: Awkwardly enough I didn't grow up in a very casual household so the "play" category of clothing is hard for me. My dad had a military background and my mom a teacher = a overly dressed fashionista! To combat my lack of play clothes I often take the very pieces I fancy up and dress them down with some sneakers or core essentials like t-shirts.
Mix & match, a couple of pieces and endless possibilities!

Perfect Gingham Dress

Happiest of Mondays loves! I'm currently indulging in fruit popsicles to soothe my throat while dreaming of sunshine days and picnics in the park. Is there anything better for picnic inspiration and the essence of spring/ summer than a gingham print? I think not! I've totally gone gingham in all aspects of life from my dining room napkins to my closet. This dress I'm rocking has some ruffle details on the sleeves and I think its a touch of something fun!  I've literally seen gingham popping up trending this season but I've managed to have a least one dress in this print every year! I pretty much consider it a closet staple.  Its so funny to think that this print can be fancy, fun, and flirty because really its all about how you style it! Definitely went for the flirty look here with a red lip and my favorite wedges! I loved those so much I picked up another style, here as another perfect neutral shoe for the seasons.
