Travel Guide: Las Vegas

If there's one thing you should know about me, its that I've been bitten HARD by the travel bug! Sorry, not sorry my friends because the adventures are on just beginning. My love of travel didn't kick in until just a few years ago believe it or not but its the one thing in my life that has been beyond my wildest dreams! If you want to go somewhere, make it happen! I just hope that my travel guide posts give you some inspiration to get there and a little guidance once you've dashed off to the destination. I spent a whirlwind 24 hours in Vegas, let me tell you how that went because as they say..."A little bit of this town goes a long way"!

A little backstory, I was initially spending a little vacation time in Salt Lake City, Utah ( I also did a travel guide on this too!) and after a couple of days decided I wanted to experience a little more excitement and less outdoor activities.  At that moment the Vegas idea was born! From SLC proper Vegas is a quick flight away but with the last minute itch driving was more economical.  Don't get me wrong the 6 hour drive is not something I do on the regular but journey had to be one of the most beautiful drives of my life.  The mountains, wide open farms,  red rocks, and the bluest sky you've ever seen all took my breath away.

This was my first time to Vegas and honestly think its a must at least once!

Things to Do

Shop: I think it goes without saying that the shopping in Vegas in some of the best you'll find. Definitely all the luxury high end retailers are must whether you're buying or windows shopping.  I'd recommend the Forum at Ceasar's Palace!  I picked up a special treat from the Gucci store here.. swoon!

Entertainment: Vegas has all the shows! Headlining singers, performers, comedians the list is endless.  Endless and also frequently sold out.  Unfortunately I couldn't catch a show during my one night but you catch my drift.  Definitely see one if you can and next time I go I will too!

The Strip:  I've seen it in the movies but literally walked a straight line and that is THE strip!  Seems like a strange concept to just walk back and forth but that's what happens.  There is so much to see on either side from people watching, amazing architecture, and street entertainment.  I spent hours back and forth ducking in and out of casinos along the way.  Stop and wait for the Bellagio fountains show, you'll thank me later!

Casinos: Aside from the entertainment and obvious party environment the biggest draw to Vegas is the gambling.  "Go big or go home", right?  Let me caution you!  Don't go sooo big that you can't go home.  There are so many if you want to hop around but I enjoyed the Palms, Ceasar's Place, and the Bellagio.

Looking back now I think I ate one real meal in my time in Vegas...not my best idea but it was delicious!  Dined at the in-house restaurant, Scotch 80 Prime and it did not disappoint.  In the selection process I've hear some good things about these too:

Le Cirque

Had a great stay at Palms Casino Resort! It is technically just off the strip but there is a free transport that will drop you off and pick you up right in the middle of it all.  Love the updated decor, the casino, restaurants, and the nightlife!

Vegas literally lights up the night! I mean with the right beats and a little liquid spirits this city is a really good time.  Apex Social Club had all the good vibes for me and I'm pretty sure if the walls could talk they would've said "Quit singing every word girlfriend!"

What happens in Vegas.......stays in Vegas!

Amazon Haul: October Favorites

I've been searching the far reaches of the internet to bring you loves the best of Amazon! This is only the beginning and the first installment of what I hope will be a reoccurring post to share with you on a monthly basis. I've curated my picks for this launch as a nod to the start of Fall.  As this new season is upon us I'm excited to add new pieces to my wardrobe that are functional but most importantly affordable!  I've ordered and tried on all the selections to provide real fit and quality reviews.  These items are Prime eligible meaning they'll pop to you door in just a few days.  The thrill is unreal!  Let me know what you what you think!

Tie Front Knit Thermal Top

~ I love the slouchy fit of this top and how absolutely cozy it is!  It comes in a number of colors and I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on ordering them all, definitely snagging in black and white for sure.  I'm wearing a large in this $18.99 top, so I'd order true to size.

Polka Dot Collar Top

~ Ok this top far exceeding my expectations! If you caught it in my recent instagram you can already tell it's a piece I love.  I'd been in need of a polka dot top and the standing collar on this makes it even more divine.  I'm wearing a large in this $13.99 top so, order true to your size.

Peplum Textured LS Top

~Absolutely loving the color of this top! I mean the mustard yellow is so on trend for Fall.  It's a peplum fit so that combined with the textured detailed are so darling. I'm wearing an XL in this one but you could totally go true to size.  Just $18.99

Off Shoulder Dress

~Amazon calls this $17.99 gem a sweater dress but I would call the fabric more of a terrycloth.  Nonetheless it is so cozy and I really love it! You can wear it off one shoulder or off both.  I'm wearing unbelted but I think perhaps a cute leopard bow belt would look amazing with it.  I'm wearing an XL so would order one size up.

Snap Pullover

~ Y'all seriously dying over this one! Found this scouring Amazon and it's so similar to one from another retailer and a steal of a price. I love how cozy it is with a quilted detail panel.  The coziest thing you'll buy! Comes 6 colors, $25.99

Halter Off Shoulder Blouse

~ I would certainly consider this top to be the most sophisticated of the group but it is amazing.  Its a light chiffon material but is lined.  Would be so cute layered with a leather jacket for those special Fall date nights. At just $18.99 I call it perfection.

Trim Detail Cardigan

~Love love this cardigan! It is perfectly lightweight but all the details are the magic.  It has pom moms, embroidery, fringe, and ruffles.  I mean what else could you want, right?  I have the blush color and this $17.99 beaut is available in 2 additional colors.  Im thinking of orders the grey as well.  Just can't have too many!

*I've been loving finding all the things on Amazon recently!  Please note that these things are possible because you of guys! Button Denim Dress

When Fall comes to town! It seems that Fall will actually show up this week.  It has been brutally hot these last few "Fall" weeks.  Since the party is taking so long to get here I'm kind of wishing I hadn't gone on a total Fall buying spree last week. While I'm waiting on the weather to really cool off I'll be wearing pieces like this cute as can be denim dress!

I love every single thing about this piece. The neckline, pleated details, and the buttons of course are more than darling. This dress can easily be layered up for Fall with an autumnal colored cozy cardigan.  I've got just the one in my closet from last season but spotted the most perfect camel colored one on my last shopping trip.  Finish off with pair of booties and your outfit is complete! Happy Fall Y'all!

Travel Guide: Salt Lake City, Utah

Back again my friends to share with you another destination from my travels, Salt Lake City! This past weekend I ventured out West to this part of the country I have never visited nor ever really thought I would! "I'm in love with cities I've never been to and people I've never met"- John Green.

To be honest I mainly wanted to visit this city because as a child brought up in the 90s I absolutely loved watching basketball (believe it or not).  For some inexplicable reason I was in love with Carl Malone and the Utah Jazz! I mean they were total superstars, right?

First, let me start by saying I never actually laid my eyes on THE salt lake but I did have a front row seat to some of the most beautiful mountains and scenery. In, my opinion this area is truly for those visitors who really enjoy the outdoors! I'm talking all the outdoor things like hiking, biking, climbing, and because the list of to dos is pretty much endless.  Since being the "outdoorsy" type isn't quite my forte I wanted to share that if you're like me there's still dos for you!

Things To Do

Temple Square- So beautiful! No matter you're religious beliefs you can surely enjoy this place on your visit. There is no admission and a plethora of things to do such as tours and exhibits. I spent some time just walking around the gardens and admiring the architecture.

Park City, Utah- I'll cover darling city in a separate post but wanted to include because its just a short drive away from Salt Lake City proper.  Restaurants, resorts, bars, boutiques...ahhhhh A must see!

Hiking- Again not my forte but from what I'm told there are many many trails in the area to conquer. Although I didn't partake I got many recommendations for Ensign Peak and Donut Falls.

Red Iguana This place was beyond words! I read over and over that this was the restaurant to get to while visiting Salt Lake City and the best Mexican food I've had.  Definitely worth the hype.  I went during lunch time and had a short wait but I've heard reports that it can be quite lengthy during dinner hours.

Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade The most delicious brunch! You won't regret stopping by here for the biscuits if nothing else.  My southern soul screamed a little on the inside enjoying my meal.  Give me all the biscuits!

Do It For The Gram

Ok let's be real! Some things you do just because well, it's going on Instagram.  Aside from my obsession with the Utah Jazz of my childhood I was dead set on finding some cool local art and murals.  There are several across the city but I wanted this one most of all.  I mean really how cool is it?  Located on the building right next to the Moose Lounge in downtown Salt Lake.  Get that pic peeps, do it for the 'gram!

The Most Perfect Dress| Two Ways To Wear

Hello loves! It has been one of this weekends that I'm not quite ready to let go of but to keep the Sunday scarier at bay I figured I'd finally get around to sharing the 2 ways I've been styling this most perfect dress. Two ways here on the blog, endless possibilities once you have this baby in your closet. If you remember back to last Fall I had this exact dress in the Burgundy color and could have kicked myself at the time for not getting the black. Welp today, no regrets!

Now this dress! Don't let anyone tell you this gem is basic. If nothing else it is basically an ESSENTIAL. I literally can't think of another dress I own that transcends the seasons and truly the test of time. This is one that you'll have in your closet for years! The next line is so flattering and it is the perfect length so totally appropriate for dinner dates, girls night out, and even work. In my first look I added my favorite belt I picked up in Paris just to give myself a little shape but really the simplicity of it all makes it feel so chic to me. My second look I'm layering this gorgeous kimono, because like duhh a kimono is amazing and this one is a complete favorite. Two ways to wear this dress and so many more to come!
